Oh and here you thought you were rid of me.

(Right, well for some reason, Blogger won't let me upload any of the pictures I've taken of my completed hat. I'm going to keep trying, but alternate methods might have to be used.

Also, I finished the hat last Wednesday, September 26th, but life, it conspires against me.)

The hat is Piggle, but modifed as I haven't worn my hair in pigtails since I was a kid. Carol gave me the yarn, a goregous color called Nanette, which she dyed. (I had a really hard time picking which color I wanted to knit with because I fell in love with four different colors.)
It was very easy to knit with, and I really love the variagation this colorway has. It's warm and vibrant, with little flecks of deep pink and lilac. (You'd see what I mean if #*$(*%! blogger would let me upload a picture!)

(The only downside was that my skein was very twisted in on itself; took me forever to get it un-tangeled and then wound into a ball. That annoyance aside, nothing but LOVELOVELOVE!)

The hat is very warm and fits really well; I'm quite happy with it.

Merry Christmas

Well, so it's Christmas of 2006, I hope that we're all having a nice one. (Also, if you're reading this and you don't celebrate Christmas, well, I hope you're having a very nice Monday. I am, I got to eat homemade gluten-free Pecan Pie for breakfast. Yup.)

Funny story about that...my mother tells me that this Pecan Pie, the gluten free one, is the ONLY one that's ever turned out. I'm taking that as the sign I'm sure it is.

A few weeks ago, I see I mentioned something about the great feeling I had, knitting and finishing-wise for Christmas. And with that said...yeah, I was wrong. Don't ask. I don't want to talk about it. Dad's 2004 Christmas Sweater of DOOM, BLOODY DOOM will have to be gifted next year. (I hope!)

Merry Christmas!

Don't ask me about my knitting

Instead, ask me about last Saturday:

Merry Christmas Mom

So, Mom and Bessie spent the weekend with Bailey and myself; Bessie and Bay to play, while Mom and I had a "yay" dinner at Wild Ginger and then went and saw the Nutcracker.

I'd like to take a moment and share about the horror of the family infront of us, who had kids that would not stop moving and talking and shifting, and their father, who had the biggest head ever and sat directly infront of me, but I won't.

Instead, I give you a picture of the angel on top of my Christmas tree.
The hell? Says Bailey

Uh huh, yup. I, have a Christmas tree. For reals. Is alive, as much as a dead tree can be, and is decorated and surrounded by Christmas decorations.
Tra-la-la, Lah-la-la La.

PS: The pictures are so not in the order I took them.

Welcome to the world

Meet my nephew, Logan Bowler Chapman.

Is he not the cutest thing ever?

Waves to the World

I'm not even going to look at the date I last posted, because I'm pretty sure that it was in September and that, was months ago.

So, let's just gloss over that shall we? Excellent, excellent. Now, to get down to brass tacks.

1. I have made (successfully) a gluten free pizza and it was awesome.
No, really it was. Laura was kind enough to (indefinitely) loan me a pizza stone because I had a craving for pizza.

2. I have been knitting on Dad's 2004 Christmas Sweater (of Doom).
Yes, Dad, I know you don't read this, but whatever. I'm 4 rows away from ARMHOLE SHAPING and wow, it's an awesome feeling. (Or, it will be once I'm not so tired anymore.)

3. I finished a Christmas stocking that I started last year. (Notice the 2 heels? Yeah.) I had it all done, but I didn't feel like seeming up the thing. But now, with it done, I can totally join Laura's Stocking knit a long and feel like a WINNER (that I know I am). Awesome.

4. In two weeks, I'll be an aunt again.

5. Um, Bailey is good.

6. It's a week to Thanksgiving and I've just realized that I'm nowhere near being done for Christmas gifts. This is really unusual for me, as I'm usually done by the end of last month (or so, Dad's Sweater of Doom not-withstanding).

7. I've decided that Jensen Ackles really is the most beautiful man I've ever seen.

8. I have a good feeling about knitting and finishing and year end.

9. I've bought a lot of new comics lately, and really haven't had a chance to read any of them. (Noble Causes, and Eternals, and some X-Men stuff and some more X-Men stuff, and Hatter M, and other things and yes, Pride of Baghdad...okay, that one I read and it's beautiful and really sad. Sob.)

10. I've read a lot of books this year.
